Hurricane Repair Specialists for Boat Docks and Seawalls

Protecting What Matters, Restoring What Was Lost

When a hurricane hits, it doesn’t just damage your dock or seawall—it threatens your entire waterfront lifestyle. At Q-ICE Builders, we’re not just general contractors—we’re hurricane repair specialists who understand how to preserve, rebuild, and fortify your waterfront investment.

Our team has extensive experience in assessing storm damage and making honest, cost-effective recommendations. We’ve saved many Central Florida homeowners up to $30,000 by preserving critical structures—especially roof systems—while rebuilding the damaged substructure below. Each project is unique and we are committed to restoring what was lost to the storm, or even using it as an opportunity to upgrade to composite decking and reinforce your dock’s infrastructure.

Signs Your Dock or Seawall May Need Repair After a Storm:

•Visibly leaning, shifted or sunken pilings
•Rotten framing or collapsed decking
•Cracked or undermined seawall caps
•Decking loose or lifted from the joists

Before a storm, we recommend turning the water and power supplies off in case of damage. If a dock looks visibly unsafe after a storm, it is likely unsafe to walk on, especially if you suspect electrical lines were damaged.

Boat Dock & Seawall FAQs for Hurricane Season

In short, remove all loose items, turn off water and power to the dock, and secure your boat in the lift. Read more here at length about other best practices to prepare your boat dock before a hurricane.

Not all damage requires a full rebuild. At Q-ICE Builders, we assess pilings, hardware, framing, and decking to determine if structural reinforcement or partial replacement will restore full integrity.

Signs include soil erosion behind the wall, leaning or bowing sections, cracks, visible water seepage, or sinkholes in the yard near the wall.

It depends on your policy. Most homeowners insurance doesn’t cover docks, but some waterfront or flood policies may include limited dock/seawall protection. Always check your policy and document all damage thoroughly.

As soon as it’s safe and accessible. Some damage may not be visible right away but can pose long-term risks. The sooner you inspect, the sooner you can prevent further damage. Often, a full inspection is possible only after the water levels recede after the storm.

Through-bolted carrier beams, stainless steel hardware, hurricane-rated fasteners, and cross-bracing all significantly improve storm resistance. Our hurricane-reinforcement builds include all of these.
